Alyssa Mullins, 18, of Onaga, Kansas, died following a serious two-vehicle crash in Pottawatomie County on Friday, September 18, 2026.
According to information released by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report of the collision shortly after 6:40 a.m. near Highway 63 and Doyle Creek Road, north of St. Mary’s.
Investigators determined that Mullins was traveling southbound in a Honda Civic when a Chevrolet Impala traveling northbound appeared to cross the centerline. The two vehicles then collided. Authorities had not determined why the Impala crossed the centerline as of the latest reports.

Mullins was flown by medical helicopter to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka for treatment. Despite emergency medical efforts, she later died. Ashlock was also transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine the circumstances that caused the northbound vehicle to cross into the path of Mullins’ Honda. The sheriff’s office has not released additional details beyond the preliminary account.
