Jasmyne Garcia Obituary, MORGAN HILL, Calif. — Jasmyne Garcia, a mother of three, was fatally shot at a residence in the 1100 block of Vintage Lane in Morgan Hill on Saturday, October 3, according to information provided by family and authorities.
Authorities allege that Garcia was shot by her husband, 37-year-old Roy Anthony Lopez, at the couple’s Morgan Hill home. Investigators said Lopez later drove Garcia to Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, where he allegedly made statements indicating that he had killed his wife.
After determining that the shooting had occurred at the Morgan Hill residence, officers went to the home and found the couple’s three children. The children, identified by family as Aaron, 14, Tony, 6, and Aaliyah, 3, were taken into protective care and turned over to Family and Children Services.
Authorities have not indicated that the children were physically harmed in the incident. Their mother’s death, however, has left the family facing the loss of a parent and the difficult days ahead.
Garcia was described by those who knew her as a devoted mother and deeply religious woman who brought warmth and positivity to people around her.
