Colean Margaret Murphy Obituary, HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. — Colean Margaret Murphy, 18, of Hopewell Junction, New York, passed away on October 1, 2026. She was remembered by her family and friends for her creativity, kindness, and the love she shared with those around her.
Colean was the beloved daughter of Nicole Ginexi and John Murphy and the sister of Shaelyn Murphy. She was known for experiencing life deeply and loving wholeheartedly, with a personality that made a lasting impression on the people who knew her.
She enjoyed the colors pink and teal, crafting, and decorating for the holidays, especially during the fall season. Colean also dreamed about her future, including owning an A-frame house and a blue pickup truck. She enjoyed dancing, playing soccer and basketball, and had a strong interest in cars and anything involving motors.
Colean had a special connection with children and was described by her family as someone who was amazing with them. She also loved Christian music and sang with great passion, bringing her own joy and personality into the things she loved.
After graduating from Arlington High School in 2025, Colean attended Lincoln Tech to pursue her dream of becoming a welder. Her determination to follow her goals reflected her ambition and the future she hoped to build.
Colean is survived by her grandparents, Brenda and Dan Fogarty; great-grandfather, Denis McLaughlin; boyfriend, Logan Fitzgerald; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who cherished the memories they shared with her. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Joan Murphy, and great-grandmother, Margaret McLaughlin.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 9, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, located at 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Church.
