Kelley Leonard Owens Obituary, PICKENS, S.C. — Kelley Leonard Owens, 63, of Pickens, South Carolina, died Monday after being found inside an apartment where a fire had occurred, according to the Pickens County Coroner’s Office.

The incident was reported Monday afternoon at an apartment complex on Hillrose Lane in Pickens. Officials said emergency crews were called to the location at approximately 1:45 p.m. after the incident was reported.

According to the Pickens Fire Department, firefighters found evidence that a fire had occurred inside the apartment. The fire had already self-extinguished before firefighters arrived at the scene.

Owens was found deceased inside the apartment. Officials said an adjacent apartment also sustained smoke damage from the incident, and one tenant was temporarily displaced because of the damage.
