William Stall Obituary: Avon Park – 20-Year-Old Dies Following Sebring Shooting

William Stall Obituary, SEBRING, Fla. — William Stall, 20, of Avon Park, Florida, has died following a shooting on Melady Avenue in Sebring on Tuesday, October 6. His death has left those who knew him mourning as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to the Sebring Police Department, officers were called to the area shortly before 8 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Stall inside his vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

Despite efforts at the scene, Stall was pronounced deceased. His death at the age of 20 has brought grief to his family, friends and others who knew him.

Detectives immediately began investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Police said preliminary findings indicate the incident occurred during what authorities described as an apparent drug deal. Investigators have continued gathering evidence and information to determine what led to the shooting.

Following the incident, the suspect reportedly fled the area. Sebring police officers and detectives conducted an extensive search with assistance from the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office.

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 7, authorities located and took a 16-year-old male from Sebring into custody in connection with the case. According to police, the juvenile was charged with robbery and murder during the commission of a robbery.

The Sebring Police Department said the investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional charges could be filed as detectives continue reviewing the evidence. Police also expressed appreciation to the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Paul Blackman for their assistance in locating and apprehending the suspect.
