Katelynn Frances Liberty Obituary, RAYVILLE, Mo. — Katelynn Frances Liberty, 30, of Rayville, Missouri, passed away on August 28, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri, following complications from acute myeloid leukemia.
Liberty was born on September 18, 1995, in Dallas, Texas. She later attended Liberty North High School, graduating with the Class of 2014 before continuing her education at the University of Arkansas.
At the University of Arkansas, Liberty earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering. Her academic accomplishments reflected her dedication to her education and assisted prepare her for a professional career in the energy industry.
Following her studies, Liberty pursued her professional career with Tallgrass Energy. Her work in the field of chemical engineering became an crucial part of her professional life.
Liberty is survived by her husband, Brandon Liberty; her parents, Ray and Kimbra Downey; and her sister, Lindsey Hodge. She is also survived by her beloved dogs, Rhea, Hera, and Athena.
A celebration of life has been scheduled to honor Liberty and remember her life and legacy. The gathering will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Vantill Winery in Rayville, Missouri.
