Kevin P. Hynes Obituary, DELMAR, N.Y. — Kevin P. Hynes, 62, of Wynantskill, New York, has died from injuries sustained in a serious motor vehicle crash on Delaware Avenue near Fisher Boulevard in Delmar on August 24, 2026.

The Bethlehem Police Department said the crash was reported at approximately 7:27 a.m. that morning. Firefighters and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene as authorities worked to assist those involved and begin an investigation into the circumstances of the collision.

According to investigators, Daniel Holleran, 71, of Holland, Pennsylvania, was traveling in the area and attempted to make a left turn. Police determined that Holleran failed to yield the right of way and began entering the lane in which Hynes was traveling.

Hynes was able to avoid a direct collision with Holleran’s vehicle, but during the evasive maneuver, his vehicle entered the eastbound lane of Delaware Avenue. His vehicle subsequently collided head-on with a vehicle operated by Christopher M. Hadsell, 48, of East Berne.

Hynes sustained serious injuries in the collision and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Despite receiving medical care, he died over the weekend as a result of the injuries he suffered in the crash.

Following the investigation, Holleran was issued a Uniform Traffic Ticket for Failure to Yield Right of Way While Making a Left Turn, in violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law § 1141. Authorities also determined that alcohol or illegal substances were not contributing factors in the crash.
