ALBERTVILLE, Ala. — Starsky Dewayne Davis, 50, and Hunter Lawrence Moore, 27, were killed Sunday morning, Aug. 30, 2026, during a shooting at a house under construction on Oneonta Cutoff Road in Albertville, according to authorities.
The Marshall County Coroner’s Office responded at approximately 6 a.m. to the 1400 block of Oneonta Cutoff Road after receiving a report of multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds. Davis and Moore were both pronounced dead at the scene.
A third man, Starsky Levi Davis, 25, was also shot multiple times during the incident. He survived and was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital, where he underwent surgery for injuries sustained in the shooting.
According to police, the shooting occurred at a property under construction that was owned by the father-and-son Davis family. Authorities said the property owners encountered Moore and believed he was a prowler.
An altercation reportedly followed the encounter, leading to an exchange of gunfire. However, authorities have not released a definitive account of who fired first or provided a complete explanation of how the confrontation escalated.
The Albertville Police Department and the Marshall County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Detectives are working to establish the sequence of events and determine what led to the exchange of gunfire.
