Paulette Vitto Obituary, LAFAYETTE, La. — Paulette Vitto, 75, of New Iberia, Louisiana, has died following a vehicle crash on South College Road in Lafayette on Saturday afternoon, August 29, 2026.
According to the Lafayette Police Department, Vitto was traveling northbound on South College Road when her vehicle struck a curb for reasons that remain unknown. The vehicle subsequently left the roadway and collided with a utility pole.
Responding officers found Vitto unresponsive at the scene and immediately began CPR. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where she was later pronounced deceased.
A passenger who was also inside the vehicle was hospitalized with serious injuries. The passenger was noted to be in stable condition. Authorities remarked impairment was not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
