Tyshawnta Davis and Darrelle Smith Obituary, MARION COUNTY, S.C. — Two people were killed and another was wounded in a shooting near Mullins early Saturday morning, prompting an ongoing inquiry by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a noted shooting shortly after midnight Saturday in the 4000 block of Zion Road near Tyvola Road, according to an updated news release from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found three people who had been shot. Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson identified the two deceased victims as Tyshawnta Davis and Darrelle Smith.
The third victim survived the shooting and is expected to recover, law enforcement said. Officials did not right away release additional information about the survivor’s condition.
Investigators recovered more than 50 bullet casings at the scene. The casings were found in two separate areas, based on to officials, as detectives worked to piece together what happened.
Authorities believe several people in the surrounding public may have witnessed the shooting or captured portions of the occurrence on surveillance or cellphone video. Investigators are asking anyone with potentially relevant information or footage to come forward.

The probe remains ongoing as detectives work to determine what led to the shooting, identify those responsible and establish a complete timeline of events. Davis and Smith are remembered as the two victims whose lives were lost in the deadly Marion County shooting, while law enforcement continue seeking information from the community.
