The crash occurred at approximately 12:15 p.m. as Christie was driving a black 2008 Honda Accord on U.S. 150. According to information provided by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Christie was attempting to make a left turn from southbound U.S. 150 onto Lawrence Banet Road when her vehicle was struck by a blue 2013 Ford Focus traveling northbound.

The collision caused severe damage to both vehicles, with emergency crews responding to the scene. Christie sustained critical injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford Focus was identified as 32-year-old Dalton Smith of Georgetown, Indiana. Smith survived the collision. No additional injuries were confirmed in the information provided.
