Paul Rewitzer and Paulette Rewitzer Obituary, HANSKA, Minn. — Paul Rewitzer, 73, and Paulette Rewitzer, 74, both of Hanska, Minnesota, were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Brown County early Saturday morning.
According to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched shortly after midnight Saturday following a report of a serious crash on Brown County Road 13, just north of Brown County Road 22.
When Brown County Deputy Erik Byro arrived at the scene, he found two heavily damaged vehicles, identified as a Chevrolet Silverado and an Oldsmobile. The circumstances leading to the collision have not been fully released.
The driver of the Silverado was identified as 28-year-old Shianne Lee Escobar of Hanska. Authorities said deputies found Escobar outside the Oldsmobile after the collision.
Paul and Paulette Rewitzer were found inside the Oldsmobile. Both sustained injuries in the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
Escobar is facing two counts of vehicular homicide in connection with the deaths of Paul and Paulette Rewitzer. Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the collision or provided further information about the charges.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue examining the circumstances surrounding the crash. Additional information may be released as the investigation progresses.
